Why choose Dr. Yoe for your parenting needs?
Parenting is one of life’s most rewarding—and challenging—experiences. As a clinical psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families, I’m passionate about helping parents navigate these challenges with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
Beyond my professional expertise, I am also a parent to a three- and ten-year-old, giving me firsthand experience in applying the very strategies I teach. I understand the real-life struggles of parenting because I live them daily, balancing the demands of raising children with evidence-based approaches to fostering resilience, emotional well-being, and connection.
Expertise Matters.
I
A Career Defined by Dedication
My career has spanned nearly every facet of child and family mental health. From my earliest work at age 17 (26 years ago!) with the North Carolina Autism Society to leading therapy in psychiatric residential treatment facilities, I have spent over two decades committed to understanding and supporting children, parents, and families.
Here’s a glimpse into the breadth of my experience:
-
Residential & Wilderness Therapy – I’ve worked in group homes, providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents facing complex behavioral challenges. I’ve guided adolescents with dual diagnoses in wilderness therapy programs, helping them navigate through trauma and work toward resilience.
-
School-Based Therapy – As a school-based therapist, I’ve supported students and their families by bridging the gap between academic and emotional challenges, ensuring that children have the resources they need to thrive both at school and at home.
-
Integrated Behavioral Healthcare – I’ve provided integrated behavioral healthcare in pediatric primary care settings, collaborating with doctors and healthcare professionals to address behavioral and emotional concerns within a family context.
-
Psychological & Neuropsychological Assessments – I’ve conducted comprehensive psychological evaluations across a variety of settings, providing insights and treatment recommendations for children, adolescents, and adults dealing with emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues.
-
Trauma-Informed Care – I have extensive experience working with at-risk youth, including children involved in the juvenile justice system, children in residential treatment settings, and families impacted by trauma. This work has helped me understand the deep connections between trauma and behavior, allowing me to guide both individuals and families toward healing.
-
Sleep Disorders & Behavioral Interventions – I specialize in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders, offering evidence-based behavioral strategies to address sleep challenges across the lifespan. This includes working closely with families to improve sleep hygiene and routines for children and adolescents.
-
Developmental & Behavioral Concerns – My training under Dr. Chelsea Carr at the University of Arizona’s Developmental Pediatric Clinic and Whole Health Clinic refined my expertise in assessing and addressing developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, and complex behavioral issues in children.
-
Parent Coaching & Support – Over the years, I’ve worked with parents to provide practical guidance, tools, and strategies for managing challenging behaviors, improving parent-child relationships, and creating a healthier home environment.
-
Clinical Social Work Experience – From school-based therapy to outpatient settings, I have provided therapy services to individuals, couples, and families, addressing mental health concerns and helping individuals navigate through life’s challenges with resilience and support.
This diverse background allows me to approach parent therapy with a holistic, nuanced perspective. No matter the challenge—whether it’s managing behaviors, supporting developmental needs, or addressing sleep struggles—you can trust that I bring both expertise and lived experience to the table.
Bringing Joy Back to Parenting
Parenting isn’t just about managing difficult moments—it’s about rediscovering the joy in raising your children. My approach focuses on more than just problem-solving; I want to help you feel empowered, capable, and connected to your child.
Practical, Results-Driven Support
My practice is designed to meet parents where they are, offering targeted, highly effective services that provide real results:

Whether you’re looking for a single session of support or ongoing guidance, I’m here to help you walk away feeling confident, empowered, and ready to take on whatever comes next.
